Anyone know if this place is good? Been meaning to try it but haven’t made it yet.
The food at Sona is VERY good. I’d say that its more gourmet indian, vs passage to india, which seems to be your more standard, fast food type indian. Just a difference as to what you want from your experience. The only problem I have with Sona, is that the portions could be bigger for the price. It is definitely a must try, as the food is quite remarkable.
I have eaten at Sona’s twice and vow that I will ALWAYS eat there when I am in Winchester. I disagree whole-heartedly that the portions are too small and attribute that to the proliferation of “all you can stuff in” restaurants and overall tendency of many of us to over-eat. The food is fabulous and Shiv (owner AND chef )is a marvelous host. We almost passed on it the first time we ate there because of the nondescript exterior, but the interior is very nice, and we are “oh so glad we did”. The second time we ate there Shiv came out to say hello, recognized us immediately, and we opted to eat “whatever he felt like making us.” He did NOT let us down. I rate it 10 of 10. I have zero complaints thus far. OMG I love the flat breads ! ! !
I really love this restaurant! After moving to Winchester last year I am excited to get out and see what is available in the area and Chef Shiv did not disappoint. The food was prepared extremely well and customized to my taste. This is truly an unique dining experience introducing Indian flavors to Winchester. The portions are not what I would consider small however considering the oversized meals that we are accoustomed to I understand the previous post. Dining is not always about quantity, rather appreciating the quality of what is offered. I cannot wait to go back.

I also agree that this restaurant is amazing. I feel so at home and comfortable in the dining area and the food is remarkable. Both my girlfriend and I leave this place with the biggest smiles on our faces. The chef always comes out, remembers us, and chats for a while. Great food, great service, great date option!
