Red Hot & Blue BBQ
Sep 16th, 2008 | By admin | Category: BBQ RestaurantUpdate: Wednesday August 26, Red Hot & Blue on Featherbed Lane in Winchester closed. A manager said the lease for the building was up and because of economic reasons the lease wasn’t renewed. It was a good chain restaurant. Fans of great BBQ will now have to choose one of the many other BBQ choices in Winchester
It’s a chain but it’s really great BBQ. It’s consistent quality and the service is always great. Their sides round out a good meal. My favorites are the sweet potato fries and their awesome potato salad. But my absolute favorite, artery clogging specialty, is the sausage and cheese platter. It’s a great carry-out dish for game day or a terrific appetizer.
Their real claim to fame is their St. Louis-style Ribs. Hickory-smoked for hours and hours and served with BBQ beans and creamy cole slaw. They offer three varieties
Wet Ribs-Slowly smoked over hickory wood, then slathered with
Mojo Mild BBQ Sauce and grilled to perfection.
DryRibs - A Memphis tradition. Slow-smoked ribs sprinkled with
their secret blend of dry spices and finished on the grill.
Sweet Ribs Glazed with Sufferin’ Sweet BBQ Sauce and grilled.

Always a consistently good meal and some of the best sweet tea in town.
