For those of us who have enjoyed the famous football sized burritos from Chipotle in other parts of the area, the arrival of our favorite purveyor of tortilla wrapped manna is a cause for celebration. Chipotle makes a terrific burrito. They use simple fresh ingredients and are very generous with the portions.There are two thing that really make them stand head and shoulders above the other burrito pushers. One, the meat. I love the fact that I can still tell that the beef was a piece of meat and not some grey grool that has been cooked to death. Two, the guacomole. The simple recipe of avocodoes, cilantro and lime juice, lets the great flavors stand on their own.I also love the neo-retro design they apply in all the stores and the way the spaces are designed to move people through.
The store in Winchester is a little on the small side and the entrance is confusing for everyone I see walk in. They did a lousy job designing the space for intuitive traffic flow. Fortunately it’s small enough that everyone figures it out on the second try.
